Removed some now redundant settings from the preferences menu making things simpler.

Improved manual mode, by unchecking Auto Node Selection you can manually select an exit node from the exit node table after testing either by selecting and double left clicking the node entry or right clicking the node entry and selecting Activate from the popup.
SelekTOR will remember your selected node at startup and if the node is still viable it will activate it.

I’m trying to find out where the problem lies at the moment and don’t have any solutions other than switching to Chrome or Chromium.

Update 1:
The SelekTOR + Firefox issues on linux appear to be linked to the move from using gnome2 style system settings over to gnome3 style system settings, I am working on fixes which should be released in a couple of days hopefully.

Update 2:
Firefox has moved over to gnome 3 proxy support, I knew it would happen eventually but i presumed they would maintain gnome 2 proxy support unless its just a bug thats fine, but if they have actually dropped gnome2 proxy support then thats a bad move but not suprising as they seem to be making a lot of bad moves recently aka H264.
I have a nasty suspicion that Firefox may go the way of the dodo and become irrelevant at this rate.

Anyways, I have added gnome3 proxy support to SelekTOR and will release a new version later today to accommodate Firefox.

Fixed update notification window disappearing quickly at startup.
Added an option to preferences to disable desktop notifications if you find them annoying.

I think this is pretty much it as far as further development goes, SelekTOR 2 is now pretty stable and is where I want it to be.
I may add additional media support for various countries when I find the time.

Whats new:

1) Lots of bugfixes, including improved shutdown, startup and proxy settings cleanup and restore to original proxy settings even after bad shutdowns.

2) Now has support for the following Australian TV media sites, just select Australia as your exit country in media mode.
Since Australia has so few exit nodes you might also want to go into preferences and uncheck “Stable Nodes Only” to provide some extra nodes to work with, remember to click “Apply” to make the changes stick.

3) To set SelekTOR to Auto-run at startup on both the Linux and Windows versions go to preferences and ensure the “Autostart SelekTOR” option is checked, remember to click “Apply” to make the changes stick.

4) The Windows XP platform as previously announced has been dropped as far as support goes, this version runs fine on XP but it may not in the future so please don’t ask for support as it won’t be given, support is available for the registered software on the Windows 7 platform.

Known Issues:
Not so much a problem with SelekTOR but I discovered during its testing that Firefox 9.0.1 shipped with the Linux distro Mageia 1 is not picking up system proxy settings and since SelekTOR relies on this to do its magic it wont work with this specific distro version of Firefox, Chromium is fine and if you download and install the official linux version of Firefox 9.0.1 from Mozilla.org that works fine also.

Plus a few cosmetic changes.
